Jim Flick Losses Battle with Cancer.

A legendary teacher of the game of golf passed away earlier this month.  Jim Flick lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on November 5th.  Flick was a teacher to many great champions in the game.  A true gentleman who always knew how the game should be played.

One of his students, Jack Nicklaus passed along the following remarks “Jim should be remembered as one of the all-time great teachers. He is one of the few who you could say really ‘got it.’ Jim was someone who understood that the game of golf was played with the golf club and not the body. He was a great teacher, a great man, and a great friend. Barbara and I will miss him a lot.”

From a statement released by his family on the TaylorMade website:  “For all the work Flick did with accomplished players, he said often that the most rewarding of all his students were juniors. Though he lived to teach, Flick himself never stopped learning, and one of the things the game taught him, he said last week, was that golf is not about searching for the perfect swing or working at golf – it’s about playing golf.”

A terrific thought to keep in mind when you are doing your winter work on your game from a man who really knew what was important to improve.
